Charles LeBuff ) Sanibel Sign Services served
the residential and business communities of Sanibel & Captiva Islands with
fine signcraft for 46 years. Charles LeBuff established the company in 1959, and
it was the only commercial sign shop to be physically located on Sanibel Island.
In 2004, Charles opted to close this business and move further into
retirement. Over the years, Sanibel Sign
Services produced a variety of quality, long-lasting signage. These were quality
signs designed to withstand the rigors of harsh environments —
including the
wind and water savagery of Hurricanes Donna and Charley. Many of
our signs were still standing while those made by others fell to the fury of the wind.
Over the years, we specialized in production of
the following types of signs:
The portfolio of signs pictured on this
page are representative of some of the hundreds of signs Charles crafted through
the years for his customers on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. All signs displayed
were manufactured in our Sanibel Island shop. This entrance sign greets visitors to the City of Sanibel. This sign is sandblasted, from clear-heart, vertical grain, California
redwood. It is located on Causeway Road, Sanibel Island, Florida. The original
sign was destroyed in a collision with a motor vehicle. We manufactured this
replacement. Reverse blasted (recessed copy) Western red cedar plaque. The two signs above are sandblasted high-density urethane foam (HDU). Each
has a simulated wood grain background. The butterfly was carved from the
HDU foam. This sign is sandblasted HDU foam, but without
the wood grain effect. The background was stained and the copy and border were
gold-leafed. The dimensional
seashell, a junonia, is also carved from the same medium. The upper sign is double-faced. It has a PVC panel with computer-cut vinyl
letters. The lower sign is MDO plywood with cutout dimensional HDU foam letters. Blue goose banner, vinyl copy on quality banner material. Checkout the unique novelty signs
that are available mail order while the supply lasts, at this link:. QUESTIONS? Call 239.561.9161 or 239.851.4119 or Email
